From a career to a calling.
When I decided to embrace becoming a Life Sherpa, I took a leap of faith — and transitioned myself from a career to a calling.
For 27 years I was blessed to help build a family business from the ground up. We started as a company of three — my wife, my brother, and myself — and grew into a global team of more than 50. We were honored with awards of distinction, earned the loyalty of hundreds of customers, and partnered with thousands of people around the world.
It was also 27 years chock full of change, stress, and crises — the challenging by-product that comes with the territory. Over those years, we reinvented ourselves many times. I learned first-hand how difficult change and transition can be, how most of us only accept change after its benefits have been proven, and how, in the meantime, we suffer with worry, guilt, anger, resentment, and overwhelm.
I know that struggle because I lived it. I also know what pulled me through: the spark of inspiration and insight from others who had walked the path before me. The tools I learned helped me through the darkest days of my life, and being a Life Sherpa is how I now share them — guiding others to the summit of what once looked like an emotional Mount Everest, and standing there with them when they reach it.
The promise, in my own handwriting.
